Festival Highlights: Music Programme

FIBER Festival in Amsterdam is an experimental playground for future-facing, adventurous electronic music. Residing in 5 locations in the city from 29th of May till 2nd of June, and spanning multiple fringes of the sonic spectrum - from ambient soundscapes to propulsive club and rave fare - this year’s music and performance programme includes live concerts at the undiscovered Orgelpark, staple venues of Amsterdam like BIMHUIS and de Brakke Grond, and a genre-fluid club night at Garage Noord. If you’re looking for a unique musical experience: you’re in for a treat!
Organ/Body in Het Orgelpark
Our 2024 festival opens with the concert evening Organ/Body in collaboration with the undiscovered Orgelpark in Amsterdam. The evening holds two premieres made especially for, and partly within, this international concerthall for organists. Dutch sound artist and composer Casimir Geelhoed will present the premiere of Deviations, followed by the world renowned Swedish composers Maria W Horn and Mats Erlandsson. The latter created a special readapted version of The Spectral Organ to be played on various organs and the hyperorgan. The fusion between organ sounds, software and electronic music is what makes this evening a unique experience. Don’t miss out!

PYUR presents Lucid Anarchy (Live)
PYUR - Delta
Have you ever wondered how intense, tumultuous emotions can be translated into spectral sonic experiences? On ‘Lucid Anarchy’, her latest release on the Subtext label, PYUR (aka Sophie Schnell) transformed personal turmoil into an emotive sonic journal which grew during a long period of immersion in vast mountain landscapes and a remote sea village. Rich in emotional depth, the album evokes the exhilarating bittersweetness of self-discovery against the perpetual entropy of the universe. On the second evening of the festival, PYUR will bring ‘Lucid Anarchy’ to the beautiful BIMHUIS, a venue for pioneering musicians and curious listeners of all generations located by Amsterdam Central Station.

Nexcyia presents Endless Path Of Memory (Live)
Themes of otherness and belonging are at the forefront of Nexcyia’s debut LP, ‘Endless Path of Memory’. Rejecting conventional song structures and the constraints of the tempo grid, the London-based ambient musician and sound artist crafts an atmospheric exploration of the boundaries between reality and illusion, driven by spontaneity rather than a predetermined destination. This performance is part of the concert evening ‘Liminal Being’ taking place at de Brakke Grond, which questions what makes or defines our human limits.
